EPA Grant Proposals: Use of Minority Business Enterprises and Women’s Business Enterprises
Guidance
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) grant agreements require that the Principal Investigator and project team comply with the “fair share objectives”* as stated in the award agreement signed by the sponsoring EPA Award Official and the Sponsored Projects Office. The campus Supplier Diversity Program Coordinator is required to report Minority Business Enterprises (MBE) and Woman Business Enterprises (WBE) utilization on an EPA FORM 5700-52A on either a semi-annual or annual basis depending on which EPA Regulations apply.
*EPA has approved a temporary exception to 40 CFR Part 33, Subpart D which includes the requirement that recipients must negotiate fair share objectives. See other certification agencies on the Supply Chain Management website listed under Supplier Diversity Resources.
