Subject: Important Message from CEC Deputy Directors Regarding Agreements

Dear CEC Agreement Recipient:

We are in extraordinary times, coping with new challenges in our collective fight against Covid-19. We are reaching out to our grant and contract recipients that have agreements ending between March 29, 2020 and June 30, 2020, and who have agreement funds that will liquidate after June 30, 2020. We understand that some of you have been impacted in your ability to complete final agreement tasks or process end of agreement invoices.  We are extending the term of agreements that end in this time period until June 30, 2020. Note that ALL invoices (including requests to release retention) must be submitted electronically to the CEC by May 7th in order to ensure payment.

You must return the attached no-cost time extension document back to us signed, before the original term end date, such as before March 30, if your agreement currently ends March 30.  Please carefully follow the due dates in this memo – we want you to get paid for work completed.  However, it’s important to realize that we are exercising the maximum flexibility we have within the state’s budget process and do not have the ability to accept late documents.

Please submit your signed no cost time extension document, CEC 140 for grants or CEC 276 for contracts, to us by e-mail at:  Signatures can be a scanned signature or certified electronic signature such as DocuSign. The original document with the signature can also be mailed BUT MUST BE RECEIVED BY THE ORIGINAL TERM END DATE, THEREFORE EMAIL IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED:

We are working  within the state budget process to get a further extension of our fund liquidation date. If we are successful, we will recontact you for a possible further extension.
