NIH ARRA Competitive Revision Applications Please note this is only a general overview of the Recovery Act Funds for Competitive Revision Applications. More details are available on the individual NIH Institute and Center websites. Purpose: To support a significant expansion of the scope or research protocol of approved and funded projects. Eligibility: the parent grant must be active and the research proposed in the revision must be accomplished within the current competitive segment. Grant Mechanisms: Research Grants (R); Program Project Center Grants (P); Training Grants (T); Career Development Grants (K); Cooperative Grants (U); and Educational Development Awards. Fellowships (F); Conference Grants (R13s) will not be considered for Revisions. Due Date: April 21, 2009, awarded by 9/30/2009 Cover Letter: Cite the Notice Number in the first sentence. Project Summary/Abstract Component: Explicitly cite Notice Number and Notice Title Introduction: Provide 1 page Budget Period: Up to two years. No maximum dollar limit; however, the budget must be reasonable for the work being proposed. Equipment purchases cannot exceed $100,000. Budget Format: Use format used for parent grant (modular or detailed budget, as appropriate) Biosketches: For ALL key personnel Submit Applications: Submit electronically through SPO via Grants.gov using the FOA (below) used for the parent grant, except for applications that have not yet transitioned to electronic submission (Program Project, Center, and Cooperative Agreement) use the PHS 398 forms – rev.11/2007. http://grants.nih.gov/grants/funding/phs398/phs398.html

This is only a general overview of the Recovery Act Funds for Administrative Supplements as described in NOT-OD-09-056. More detailed information is available on each individual NIH Institute and Center (IC) websites. Purpose: To promote job creation and economic development along with accelerating the pace and achievement of scientific research. To cover cost increases that are associated with increasing the tempo of scientific research funded under the parent grant. NIH will not consider requests which are solely to restore previously applied budget adjustments to a project nor to supplant institutional commitments supporting individuals and other costs previously committed to projects. Eligibility: PI must have an active grant. The research/scientific activities proposed in the supplement must be accomplished within the current competitive segment.
